La Cortinea Mountain Lodge

Liz and Rich own a ski lodge in the french alps and wanted a website.
They had a mass of content ready for the site and some great pictures from past seasons so we set about coming up with a number of different designs for them to pick and choose from. The site you see now is actually the second re-design that the site has had since we started working on it 4 years ago.
Features of note about his site include:

- No duplication of code
- Clean coding designed to ease maintance
- Search engine friendly without reverting to "black hat tricks"
- Intelligent code which picks up on changes to site content with limited input from the admin user
- CSS tricks to get the skier to sit in the header
- Some nifty javascript code to get the custom scroller to work and to create the faded edges of the scroller (without using Flash)
- Excel powered availability grid. Using the technology they are used to using so that it is easy for them to amend/upload. It gets loaded into memory every time it is uploaded or the server re-starts for speed
- Secure admin area
Several other site have come around off the back of my work with Liz and Rick and we are currently working on a Resort site for the whole area. We like the clean lines of this site but we like the ski lodge even more, if you get the chance pay them a visit you will not regret it!
